Patoranking has never needed reminding of his status at the pinnacle of African music, however, he is definitely on a mission to establish his status as a global musician and he took steps towards doing that when he made history in Jamaica this weekend.
Nigerians are doing the most in the dancehall and reggae scenes and Patoranking is at the heart of that. He's been steadily releasing quality sounds and it's been recognised in Jamaica.

This weekend Patoranking performed at the 25th Reggae Sumfest, from Montego Bay in Jamaica. This was both a big deal for Africa and the Caribbean.
One promoter explained;
"It is a momentous occasion and Downsound Entertainment wants to share this with not just Patoranking fans but all of Africa. Patoranking's song, 'My Woman, My Everything', topped dancehall charts on the Island and to show a diversity of culture the Nigerian star has been added to Reggae Sumfest's international night."
Patoranking managed to get a shout out from the legendary Busta Rhymes while in Jamaica, making it the most legendary weekend ever.
