Sway Calloway has had a keen interest in South African hip hop acts for awhile. AKA, Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C have all been invited to the show but only one local act has made the best freestyle list.
Kwesta made his appearance on Sway's show in March for a freestyle which was so good, he later dropped it as a single for free. And it really was that good because Sway has featured it on his Top 5 Freestyles of 2017…So Far! list, which was released this week.
Kwesta, who goes by the acronym, DaKAR - which stands for Da King of Afrikan Rap - made the top of the list, where Sway hailed him the king of African rap. He's the only African act on the list which also features Cyhi The Prynce, Oswin Benjamin, Westside Gunn, Eminem's protégé Conway and Cash Money's Jay Dot Deep.
