If there's one artist who will never let you down with a steady release of mixtapes, it's definitely Meek Mill. The rapper from Philly has been trying to take his career to the next level, and just over 3 months after releasing "Meekend Music 1" he's back with the sequel.
The grainy cover art is striking, as it's filled up exclusively by black people. The first thing that came to mind was "Could Meek Mill be making a transition to conscious rap?"
By the time I got to track two of the 4-track mixtape (MM1 was slightly shorter with 3 tracks) I realised there was no such transition. Meek is back to his loud self although this record feels a lot more experimental and a lot less polished than previous Meek projects.
If you're a fan though, it's worth a listen.
